The Brief
Cochin International Airport is India’s first Greenfield airport, fully powered by solar energy. Idiom was tasked to create a brand identity and communication for CIAL.
Concept and Design Approach
The idea was to create a symbol that could capture the cultural essence of Kerela, and also showcase the unique aspect of sustainable energy through it. The symbol was also to be simple to understand so that people in general could relate and feel pride through it.
The logo uses the palm leaf, an ubiquitous cultural symbol, to create a forward moving arrow. The fresh green color symbolizes sustainability.
